Still lifes

I believe still life artists and still life painters have a unique point of view in that they are painting "still" objects. I never took the "still" part very seriously and instead try to infuse my still lifes with active motion and lively brushwork. Also, I am fond of gold leaf which I  use in a painterly fashion for backgrounds.
